Croatia in Colors: a participatory photo adventure

Croatia is a country of light, contrasts and colors. The blue of the Adriatic Sea, the green of pine trees and olive groves, the red of rooftops, the white of stone, the orange of sunsets… every color tells a small part of the journey.

With this photo series, Enjoy Croatia invites you to join a simple and creative challenge: every week, a new color takes center stage. The idea is easy: share a photo matching the color of the week.

The photo can be taken in Croatia, of course, but it does not have to be. A color, an atmosphere, a detail, a memory… the important thing is to participate and look at the world differently.

How to participate?

Every Monday, a new color is announced on the Enjoy Croatia Facebook page. You can share your photo in the comments or send it via private message to the page.

Shared photos may be added to this article, with the owner’s name or nickname credited as the source. The goal is to create, week after week, a living and collective gallery built around colors.

Week 1: Blue — Monday, May 18, 2026

To begin this series, it was impossible not to choose blue. In Croatia, blue is everywhere: in the Adriatic Sea, in the sky, on boats, shutters, reflections and hidden coves.

From the deep blue of the sea to the translucent turquoise waters of the Kvarner and Dalmatian coves, every region seems to have its own shade. Some mornings, the sea almost turns silver under the rising sun. A few hours later, it becomes bright turquoise before shifting to dark blue at sunset.

Blue instantly evokes calm, holidays, freedom and that special feeling you get when standing by the sea. That moment when everything slows down. When you sit for a few minutes on a harbor bench simply watching boats gently move with the waves.

In Croatia, blue is also the color of long summer days, open windows facing the Adriatic, ferries crossing between islands, beach umbrellas, old shutters in coastal villages and shimmering reflections dancing on white stones warmed by the sun.

It is a color that constantly changes depending on the weather, the season or the time of day. The exact same place can look completely different in the morning, afternoon or at sunset. And that is precisely what makes blue so fascinating to photograph.

For this first week, we invite you to share your most beautiful blue photo: sea, sky, reflection, object, street, detail, nature… no matter where in the world it was taken, as long as blue tells a story or creates an emotion.

And who knows… maybe your photo will soon help color the pages of Enjoy Croatia 😊

Week 2: Green — Monday, May 25, 2026
